This is a screen print edition of a street print made in London Marylebone.
In April 2023 Raubdruckerin's crew explored the streets of London. We knew that such an old city with this industrial heritage would have special urban design pieces on its streets, but what we found exceeded our expectations by far.
Our London series is a tribute to the often overlooked beauty found beneath the streets of London.
This design showcases an iconic coal hole cover. Coal hole covers were used to supply houses with coal, the predominant fuel at the time. These cast iron lids are not just relics of the industrial era, but real urban artworks, impressive in their diversity and design language.
