This striking design originates from an iconic brass manhole cover in Budapest, featuring the bold "Budapesti Elektromos" typography—a tribute to the historical, back then, state-owned company that introduced all of Budapest's electrical infrastructure.
For this special edition, we’ve re-imagined our method: after taking an impression of the original manhole cover in the streets of Budapest, we carefully crafted an artful rendition using a digital carving process to capture every detail and texture and created our own manhole cover.
This method allows us to achieve the signature all-over print without compromise, delivering handprinted top quality that reflects the unique character and artistry of the manhole cover. Each piece is a connection to Budapest’s urban industrial heritage and this time unmirrored.

Organic Cotton
The ink we use is water-based and eco-friendly. It is 100% free from formaldehyde, white spirit and APEO and suited for major ecology and social responsibility standards: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and GOTS.
This print is permanent and can of course be washed.
To maximize the life of this product, wash similar colours together at 30°C. Wash and iron inside-out and use a mild detergent...maybe, an eco-friendly one!
